DKMS Foundation India has learned that our name, logo and letterhead are being misused by unauthorised parties. DKMS is a non-profit organization dedicated to the fight against blood cancer and other blood disorders, such as thalassemia and aplastic anemia. In India, we aim to improve the situation for blood cancer and other blood disorder patients by raising awareness about blood stem cell transplantation and registering potential blood stem cell donors. We are not involved in organ transplantation.

I am delighted to get the chance of saving a life and to be a part of such a noble cause. “Saving the life of a blood cancer patient was the only reason for me to donate stem cells.” I was very excited and optimistic when I got to know that I was found to be a match for a blood cancer patient. My family supported me completely for the noble cause. Although there are no health risks involved for the donor, they were initially a little concerned and suggested taking enough precautionary measures before and after the process and also get confirmation from a doctor that there are no risks.
