Beware of Impersonation and Fraud

DKMS Foundation India has learned that our name, logo and letterhead are being misused by unauthorised parties. DKMS is a non-profit organization dedicated to the fight against blood cancer and other blood disorders, such as thalassemia and aplastic anemia. In India, we aim to improve the situation for blood cancer and other blood disorder patients by raising awareness about blood stem cell transplantation and registering potential blood stem cell donors. We are not involved in organ transplantation.

Help Find Saurabhi’s Match

A simple 2-minute cheek swab today could save her life.

She is happiest, standing at the front of her classroom inspiring her students, dancing, organizing Indian heritage events, feeling the wind as she cycles, and sharing everyday moments at home with her husband, their 17-year-old son, and their dog.

Instead, Saurabhi is fighting Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML) and waiting for a stranger to give her a second chance at life. Teaching is Saurabhi’s calling, and her students miss her deeply. In May, her life was paused by a sudden diagnosis of AML. A stem cell transplant is her best hope for a complete recovery.

Why she urgently needs your help Only about 30% of blood cancer patients find a matching donor within their immediate family. The remaining 70% rely entirely on generous strangers on the stem cell register.

Because tissue matching is deeply tied to genetic ancestry, patients of South Asian heritage face a severe shortage of registered donors worldwide. Saurabhi’s life-saving match will almost certainly come from someone within our community.

In Saurabhi’s words:

“My son is 17, but to me, he is still my boy—and he still needs his mum. I want to be there as he steps into adulthood, to celebrate his milestones, and just be there when he needs a hug. I want to grow old with my husband, take our dog for walks, get back to cycling, and return to the classroom and the students I love. I have so many things that I want to do, and you can help me do them. When I learned that saving a life starts with just a 2-minute cheek swab at home, it gave me immense hope. Please don’t register just for me—register for every family waiting for a match. You could be the reason a mum gets to come home.”
